PEEK vs. Mimetic Metal Implants

Poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK) implants are comprised of a synthetic material that is “bioinert”, meaning it does not interact when introduced to biological tissue. CoreLink offers PEEK implants for ACDF, ALIF, lateral, and posterior lumbar application. Our interbodies include optimally placed tantalum markers allowing for ideal implant positioning.

Mimetic Metal is comprised of titanium alloy (Ti-6AL-4V ELI) manufactured through a patented 3D printing process. Mimetic Metal technology emulates key characteristics of natural bone to provide an optimal structure and environment for healing. CoreLink offers 3D printed implants for ACDF, ALIF, lateral, and posterior lumbar application. Our interbodies are designed for optimal blood flow to promote healing. Their streamlined support structure minimizes density, allowing high-quality imaging. The unique design increases load sharing, which according to Wolff’s Law, helps support bone growth.
